Courtnie Moore and her husband are the parents to three spunky boys and one fun dog. She loves to cook, swim, camp, watch movies, and has recently discovered a love of gardening. Courtnie has a degree in business finance from Weber State University with a minor in mathematics. After graduation, she was hired as a business manager and worked with multiple charter schools managing the financial aspects of each school. After taking time off to focus on her kids, she was hired as a grant specialist for Red Apple Finance where she helps directors write and submit reimburseable grants with the State of Utah. 

Janae Howell is excited to serve on the board at Voyage Academy. She loves education and feels it is important for students to love to learn. She has a Bachelor of Science with a math and chemistry major and also has a Masters degree in Education Instruction and Curriculum. She currently holds a teaching license and has worked at Northridge High School for the past 15 years. She has been involved in many aspects of the community and school opportunities which include community council, club advisor, and department head. Education is Janae’s passion and she loves to learn and grow each year. She lives in Clinton with her husband and three children who love attending Voyage and are proud to be Vikings. 

Valerie Hulsey is a retired elementary school teacher who has a passion for education and loves her association with the students. She taught for Davis School District for 26 years teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Her 27th year as an educator was spent with the fourth graders at Voyage Academy teaching science and social studies. During that time she developed a strong connection to the students, faculty, and parents of Voyage. Valerie received her Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University with an emphasis in music and language arts. She later earned an endorsement in English as a Second Language. Valerie has served on multiple committees for education during her tenure, one of them being the Trust Land Administration Committee where school budget and spending decisions were made. Valerie loves to spend time with her husband, six children, and nine grandchildren camping, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. She is anxious to serve Voyage Academy in helping them reach their goals and advocate for the students. 

Amy LeFevre brings more than 33 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education to her role as a board member. She taught for 13 years at the Melba S. Lehner Children’s School at Weber State University, where she mentored and evaluated early childhood educators and helped develop curriculum and assessment tools.

Amy has presented professional development workshops for educators across the United States through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). She is the co-author of Sand and Water Play and the author of Literacy Play, both published by Gryphon House.

Amy later spent 20 years teaching kindergarten, where she implemented her philosophy of experiential, hands-on learning. She believes children thrive when their emotional, social, and academic development are nurtured together, helping each child grow into a whole and balanced individual. Amy is committed to supporting schools, educators, and families in creating learning environments where every child can succeed.

Angie Loredo is a multi-location owner of seven The UPS Store centers, a journey she began in 2011. She also serves as a trainer for The UPS Store, helping develop and support new and existing franchise operators.She currently serves as Vice President of the Utah section of the national The UPS Store Collaborative Board, where she works to strengthen marketing and success among franchise owners. She has been a resident of Clinton since 2009 and is a proud mother of three children. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, baking, spending time outdoors, and singing.

D. Robert Handy is the proud father of three amazing sons who have all flourished through their years at Voyage Academy. A familiar face on campus, Robert has spent years as a dedicated volunteer, a "Watch Dog," and a frequent participant in the school’s signature Fieldwork adventures.
Robert brings a unique "triple threat" of professional experience to the Board: healthcare, education, and logistics. He spent 22 years in healthcare, beginning in Fire and EMS before becoming a Registered Respiratory Therapist. He also served for seven years as an Adjunct Professor at Stevens-Henager College, sharing his clinical expertise with the next generation. Today, Robert applies his leadership and operational skills in a management role for FedEx Ground.
His commitment to service extends deep into the non-profit sector. Robert has an MBA and the co-founder of the 501(c)(3) charity Charity Quest!, which operates with the inspiring mission of being "on a quest to restore faith in humanity." Additionally, he is a member of the 501st Legion, a world-renowned Star Wars costuming organization dedicated to charity work and community fundraising.
When he isn’t serving the community or managing logistics, Robert can often be found at the gaming table playing Dungeons & Dragons. He is honored to join the Board of Trustees and is eager to ensure Voyage Academy continues to deliver the highest standards of expeditionary education through strong governance and a passion for student success.
