“Where words fail, music speaks.”
I have a love of music that was instilled in me at an early age. I grew up in a family who loved and participated in everything music from church choirs, school choirs, singing at home around the piano and all of us kids learning to play the piano. I have continued my love for music throughout the years as my kids have been involved in music and I have participated with music in the community or at church.
I followed my love for the medical field through college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in Respiratory Therapist. I worked as a Respiratory Therapist for about 23 years as I was in college and raising my family. Due to changes in the medical field, about 6 years ago I decided to stay home and be with my family more. I joined the Voyage Academy family the year it opened and have loved it here. I started out as a substitute and was recently asked to be the music specialist here at Voyage. I hope to instill my love for music as I teach the students about different kinds of music and music theory and explore ways to participate in music.
I am married to a wonderful husband of 24 years and have 3 beautiful children, ages 19, 16, 12. We love to be outdoors as a family hiking, camping, tubing down rivers and paddle boarding. I also love to shop and travel. We love our 2 dogs who are as much our kids as our own children are.
I am excited to be teaching your children music and hope they learn to love music as I do.
