My Bio

“Today will never come again.  Be a blessing.  Be a friend.  Encourage someone.  Take time to care.  Let your words heal, and not wound”.  I have always tried to live my life with this saying in mind, and I feel that Voyage Academy teaches this to our students.  I am the oldest of six siblings, and as a kid I used to read to them every night.  This instilled a love of teaching that has grown with me over the years.  I have been working with elementary students for eight years and I am going on my fourth year here at Voyage Academy.  I teach life skills and started last year working with the nutrition.  I have truly loved Voyage Academy and enjoy coming to work each and every day.  It brings such happiness in my life to see all the smiling faces here at school.

I was born in Utah, but spent most of my teenage years living in a small town in Oregon.  I moved back to Utah during my junior year of high school, graduating from Northridge High School.  I then attended Weber State University.  Eighteen years ago I met my best friend and married him.  We have five kids, and all but my oldest have attended school at Voyage.  Being a mom brings me so much happiness.  I am also passionate about animals and everything outdoors.  My hobbies include hiking, camping, gardening, running, and of course fitness and nutrition.  I am very fortunate to work with so many great people and to spend time with all the wonderful students at Voyage.
